Raw agricultural commodities (RAC) and processing for field studies establish magnitude of pesticide/metabolite residues in products. Primary processed commodities, the product derived from mechanical or chemical processing of the RAC, are subjected to assessments to quantify levels of residues, residue distribution, ratios (residues in the processed commodity to residue level in the RAC) and Maximum Residue Levels (MRLs).

Study requirements depend on the importance of a processed product in the diet and the physicochemical properties of the pesticide/metabolites.
